Before moving into business broking, Joel spent more than a decade working across marketing, technology and growing businesses, including roles with Xero and Fathom. That experience gave him a close understanding of accounting firms, the businesses they advise, and the systems, people and client relationships that create value beyond the numbers.
Joel has a particular interest in what makes a business attractive to a buyer. He works with owners to understand not only financial performance, but also recurring revenue, client concentration, team structure, owner dependence and the factors that can influence how confidently a buyer approaches an acquisition.
For Joel, selling a business is about more than finding someone willing to pay for it. It is about understanding what the owner has built, presenting it properly to the market and finding the right buyer to carry the business into its next chapter.
